The racehorse and jockey motif allows me to explores themes of luck, chance, and risk while also celebrating my love for the sport of horse racing. I title the artworks with horse racing jargon that suggests multiple meanings and allows for different possible interpretations. The narratives in the work explore experiences that are both autobiographical and universal. In repeating particular motifs, I hope to encode, decode, and then discover meaning and knowledge about myself and the world.
